Section Assistants

Could you spare a couple of hours a week to support scouting in Chorlton? Each week over 100 young people come to our Beaver, Cub and Sea Scout Sessions and we’re growing fast!

There’s a role to suit everybody and we can work around any existing commitments you might have. For an informal chat about the opportunities available get in touch today

Beaver Cub and Scout leader

We're looking for Beaver, Cub and Scout leaders to expand our group. You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent.

Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because people like you lend a hand. We are in Whalley Range, but only 5 minutes from Fallowfield, Chorlton, Alexandra Park, Hulme, Stretford and Moss side, our original home.

We’re talking about tea makers, tidy-uppers and skill sharers. We’re talking about mini bus drivers and first aiders. We’re talking about students who want to boost their CV, and parents who volunteer so they can spend more time together as a family.

Whatever your skillset, lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in.  Because whether you’re helping a leader to run an activity at our hall, organising a night away, or buttering 120 slices of bread a group of very hungry eleven year olds - no two Scout meetings are the same. The difference you make, though, is always great.

We provide the training. You show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life.

Sounds fun? Worthwhile? It is.

In this role you'd be supported by keen assistant leaders and would have guidance and support from the Group Scout Leader Get in touch for a no obligation chat today!

Cub Scout Leader

Chorlton Scout Group is growing fast, we already have 2 Beaver colonies and a waiting list and our Cub pack is nearing its capacity, we’re looking for someone to take on the challenge of opening a brand new second cub pack to enable more local young people to join cubs and to ensure our beaver scouts have somewhere to move up to.

Experience in some scouting capacity would be helpful but is not essential, we can offer full training and support and a funding package to get the new cub pack off the ground.

If you like a challenge, and love working with young people  this could be the role for you, get in touch for an informal chat today
